    It reminds me a lot of another Tampa poet, Julia Levine. There is a gravity in the poems that saturates and usually makes present the movement beyond grief. To me, the two biggest challenges these poems had to overcome were not overexposing the intent behind the poems, and then not overdoing the literal reference. Which I guess means that the poems show an impressive restraint, even when it is so obvious the emotions have overpowered the speaker.
