This book had good potential but I just ended up wanting to slap the main female character by the end of the story. Plus the ending felt kind of rushed. Another good potential story but it just fell short of the landing.

When Josh takes control of the intercom at a Walmart-like store to play a joke on his best friend, he doesn't think that his fake proposal will garner them any additional attention. Naturally, somebody takes a video and posts it on Youtube, and suddenly Mel and Josh's "romance" is famous. The superstore is looking for good publicity and offers to pay for their wedding. Josh and Mel are soon in too deep, and feel like they can't disappoint everyone by telling them it isn't real. Mel is also getti [...]

Having read A week on th beach which I really enjoyed, I was glad to see that this book was on free download on .I thought this book was great, better then A week on the beach. Very chick lit which is great.I loved the concept of the book when two best friends Josh and Mel find that they are engaged to get married after a prank in a shopping centre. The fake proposal hits the Internet and on the news, things start to spiral out of control and the harder it is to tell the truth. The ending was a b [...]

This is a girlie tale but a very enjoyable one. Best friends Josh and Mel are in a shopping centre one night when Josh gets hold of the intercom phone and proposes to Mel over it. Just a bit of a lark but somebody catches it all on their camera phone and posts it online and it ends up 'going viral'.The shopping centre along with a TV crew interview them both and then offer to pay for and film their whole wedding. what do they do and how will they get out of this predicament ??It's quite an easy [...]

It was a fun and very light read. I wish it didn't seem so rushed though.

I LOVED this book! Josh and Mel are so amazing, and although they are each others best friend you can just tell they belong together! I love them and this book!

  • Kyrie Kazantzi Boland

Another super cute book! Easy read - makes you fall in love with Josh! ;)

  • Therese

It was cute and pretty well-written. I just wanted so much more from it! There was so much potential here with Josh and Melody and it felt rushed as it went along. Overall, a good read. :)

  • Leigh Mitchell

Published: 09/09/2011Author: Virginia JewelRecommended for: fans of chick lit and novellasEdition: KindleI found this book on the Kindle Store for free so I thought I would give it a try, I thought that this was a very well written book and very much a typical 'chick lit' book which was fun and lighthearted. a good pick me up. With it being a typical 'chick lit' book it was a little bit predictable towards the end but it didn't stop it from been a book that is hard to put down.It was a cute and [...]

This was a very cute, quick read. Josh and Mel have been best friends for ten years, and roommates for the past year. After a horrible break-up with her boyfriend, who kicks her out, Mel moves in with Josh. Now, a year later, Josh and Mel are sitting around being bored and decide to hit the local Supermart. Josh grabs the mic to the PA system and proposes to Mel as a joke. What they don't know until a few days later is that someone caught the whole thing on video and uploaded it to the internet. [...]

I started this book at bedtime about 11pm and was up till almost 3am finishing it. I just couldn't put this very enjoyable story down once I started. The story was very sweet and funny. I liked that it was written in first person as we see everything from Melody"s ("Trip's") point of view. I would defiantly read more of Virginia Jewel's books.

  • Sarah

I think this books was alot of fun. The story kept building to an end I wasn't expecting. I didn't want the story to end.Thank you for a fun beach read. I truly enjoy your books. Can't wait to read another one.

  • Kate T

I thought the story was very cute, but a little predictable. I definitely enjoyed Week at the Beach more. I did enjoy the relationship between Josh and Mel. This was a good quick read.

  • Chris

Cute and sweet short story. It made me weepy quite a few times.

  • Katie

Extremely glad this was a free book. It was really predictable and the main female character is unlikeable.

  • Janice

Did not believe the story line or the way it was written. I do like this author though. I recommend her other books instead.

  • Nikki Wight

    predictable but enjoyable girly read
